Introduction

Together Our Community Matters is a resident led project that focuses on improving well-being, reducing isolation, connecting the community, creating skills and volunteer opportunities and empowering people to have their say. The project ties in with the Forum’s ethos of creating a vibrant, inclusive community, where people can feel safe and proud to be living or working within the village.

How can you get involved with the project?

Here at Penparcau Community Forum, we believe in bringing volunteers together to learn new skills and have a sense of togetherness. We welcome anyone to share their ideas for the project and we encourage anyone to get involved. We currently have over 25 volunteers registered with us who help with garden maintenance, cleaning, kitchen and café duties, IT repairs, and tackling poverty. We also have a dedicated volunteer team who work all year round to create some fantastic events for the community such as Easter Egg Hunts, Party in the Park and Christmas events. Worried that you might lack skills? Don’t worry, we have provisions in place to support you through any relevant training that you need such as food safety, health, and safety, first aid, brush cutter training etc.

To enquire about volunteering, please contact 01970 611099 or email contact@penparcau.cymru.

Has this project benefited you at all?

We are always keen to hear about what impact our projects have on the community whether that be using the facilities to stay warm, learning new skills, becoming a volunteer, or hiring one of our rooms.
